在神家中全然忠信的僕人
他的服事影響深遠，至今無法忘懷
四十多年前，劉湛庠弟兄因病，徐公義弟兄親赴花蓮接他來臺北，住在十四會所附近，以便在榮總就醫。當年十四會所還是木造平房，聚會人數不多，弟兄姊妹彼此相愛，同心合意，常常跪着禁食禱告。劉弟兄對我們一家有特別的情分，雖然他已離開我們三十年，但他對我們的服事，至今無法忘懷，影響深遠。當時，大女兒頌音才三、四歲，每逢聚會全家坐在一起，頌音總是很乖巧的坐在祖母身邊，還有模有樣的幫祖母打開詩歌本，用小指頭指來指去。其實頌音當時還不認識字，劉弟兄看到，總會很喜悅的說：『這是多麼甜美的畫面，祖孫三代一起唱詩讚美。』劉弟兄非常疼愛頌音，有時我們會帶孩子到他家看他。有一次劉弟兄題醒我要讓孩子從小就學習作文，這件事至關重要。所以當頌音剛上小學，我就讓她練習寫日記，並且常把頌音的日記簿和作業簿帶去給劉弟兄看，他總是非常喜悅，不斷的稱讚說：『很好』。感謝主，有屬靈長輩的指導和扶持，使我更有智慧，曉得如何來教導孩子。
後來次女以樂出生，劉弟兄就題醒我說，每個孩子的性向、資質均不相同，要因材施教。這句話對我影響很深。以樂確實和姊姊不一樣，我必須常常調整腳步，慢慢觀察她的需要。當時我自己不懂，便帶以樂到音樂班、美勞班、作文班、舞蹈班…學習。本來我是反對以樂到舞蹈班，但以樂請爸爸向媽媽求情，如果媽媽答應，就證明神聽了她的禱告。我這當媽的被這十歲的女兒單純依靠神的心感動。至今舞蹈還是以樂最愛的運動之一。
劉弟兄對我在屬靈上也有很深的影響，他知道家父在主的話語和傳福音上有從主領受的恩賜。有一次我在聚會中站起來分享。劉弟兄非常稱讚，說我很像家父。鼓勵我今後要多交通，多分享。我心中特別感動，記住了劉弟兄的話。
一切重頭學習，重新學習
回想劉弟兄四十多年前，剛從花蓮搬到臺北石牌，第一次在十四會所站起來交通時：說從今以後，他一切要重頭學習，重新學習。林弟兄一聽這話，感動得淚流滿腮。一位多年忠心服事主的弟兄生病了，現在無論甚麼，都得重頭學習，重新學習。林弟兄便更謙卑的服在主面前。有一次私下交通，知道劉弟兄常為兩百多位聖徒代禱，可見其愛聖徒之心有多深、多廣。劉弟兄自己中風，劉師母身體也不是很好，小兒子很聰明，卻常生病，劉弟兄常處在各種困境中，多年的服事與受苦，使他有許多屬靈的爭戰和經歷。承蒙劉弟兄看重，常邀林弟兄去他家單獨交通。林弟兄總是傾聽和陪伴，這使劉弟兄在主裏有交通的對象。林弟兄從中領受許多屬靈的教導。那些年間，劉弟兄雖然離開花蓮，但他心中非常記掛花蓮的聖徒，且有書信往來。書信都由劉弟兄口述，林弟兄代筆，再由劉弟兄用左手簽名，寄出。信中充滿了令人感動的關切聖徒的言詞。四十年匆匆過去了，但這些往事仍然歷歷在目。
服事總是盡心竭力，盡善盡美
有一次劉弟兄說在屬靈爭戰上曾有一邪靈夜間來攻擊他，攪擾他，他在信心裏靠主大能予以抵擋，斥退邪靈。有位弟兄作見證說，有一年臺北的聖徒訪問花蓮及附近召會，劉弟兄先去機場接機，安頓住旅館，忙到深夜還沒回家，第二天一早弟兄姊妹醒來，劉弟兄早已忙着為他們預備早餐，大家驚奇的彼此對問，劉弟兄到底昨夜有沒有回去休息呢？可見劉弟兄對聖徒的服事總是盡心竭力，盡善盡美。當年每逢主日擘餅聚會，劉弟兄最後的禱告總是把弟兄姊妹帶到天上父神面前。有時他會有一段主的話語，特別說到主的死，主的愛，常觸動我們的深處，感動流淚，所以我們總是很寶貝的作筆記。劉弟兄的身體雖然不是很方便，但他敬畏主、愛主，他愛弟兄姊妹的身影，永遠銘刻在我們心中。頌音常說，看見劉伯伯就好像看見了主耶穌。
