提及参加家父的安息聚会

操练每个人都是使徒，先知
牧人，教师，传福音的

我们都这样去操练，结果每个人都是使徒，都是先知，都是牧人，都是教师，也都是传福音的。三十年前，我住在菲律宾马尼拉，和几位弟兄一同到医院去看望一位生病的弟兄。那位弟兄的亲友都是公会的，他看见我们几位弟兄围着生病的弟兄祷告，很惊奇的问：『你们都是牧师么？』你们想，在他的观念里祷告是什么呢？他一定想祷告是牧师的事。就好像打官司要找律师，看病要找医师，祷告自然是去找牧师了。一个基督徒落到自己不能祷告，祷告要找牧师的地步，这完全是基督教圣品阶级的观念把人害了。

基督教基本原则—圣品阶级作祭司

基督教基本的原则，就是圣品阶级来作祭司。丧礼中，需要牧师讲一篇上天堂的道；婚礼中，需要牧师来给人劝勉一番；新生儿也得送到教堂去，要牧师来个祝福。把属灵的事看作神职人员的专职，教友只需要来作作礼拜就可以了。我以前在的那个公会里，我去参加祷告聚会，到那里一看只有三个人：牧师、牧师娘加上一个看教堂的，他们看见我去都吃了一惊，你不是牧师，你怎么也来祷告聚会？那我们中间有没有把这堕落的光景脱干净呢？没有！礼拜天来听道的有三百人，礼拜二祷告聚会才三十人，其他两百七十人，百分之九十的人不见了。那百分之九十都是来听道的；换句话说，那百分之九十都是来作礼拜的，不是来祷告的。

应该为湛庠弟兄说话见证

前几天，我参加一位同工弟兄的安息聚会，看见两位长老弟兄在作安葬牧师，我心里怪那天坐在那里的弟兄们，我相信认识去世的刘湛庠弟兄更透、更亲密的，有很多都超过说话的两位长老弟兄，那为什么你们不肯出来说话呢？为什么长老们要出来说话？弟兄们不会作么？我相信若是由弟兄姊妹来作，会作得更好、更漂亮。我们中间仍有基督教的遗毒，面酵掺到面里面去，是很难除干净的。希望我们除掉那些遗传，反一反已往，都学习说主的话，每个人都操练在任何场合里，运用你的灵，让圣灵充满你的灵，起来为神说话（一九八五年十月九日晚讲于台北）。

激励人心的忠信主仆

主的恢复在台湾福音开展初期，刘伯伯就全时间为主摆上，成为一位同工，在较偏远地区，如：冈山、花莲…等地，传扬福音，牧养圣徒，建造召会，是一位主忠信的仆人。

大姊、大哥和我的婚姻都是刘伯伯介绍的

由于家父亦是同工，遂与刘伯伯相识，而我们家三个孩子：大姊、大哥和我的婚姻都是刘伯伯介绍的。那时我是在石牌工作，我姊妹家住石牌，人在新竹工作，那里服事弟兄介绍我和姊妹交往，姊妹不太知道我是怎样的一位弟兄，当她回石牌时就和一位姊妹去找刘伯伯交通。正好刘伯伯与我父亲很熟，就告诉她，我的家庭情形，给了姊妹很大的帮助。后刘伯伯又到姊妹家与她父母亲交通，也与我父母亲交通，很快我们就订婚了，事就这样成了。感谢主，这是主作的，我们如今一直活在教会中，在此衷心感谢刘伯伯对我们的服事。

对我有很多成全教导

刘伯伯对我也有很多成全和教导，记得当时我是在职青年，我们有几位弟兄一同在主日操练释放李弟兄信息，每人分一部分来讲。有一次我站起来讲，没讲多久，突然忘记了，讲不下去了，呆站在那里也不是，就只好坐下。弟兄姊妹见此状，就哄堂大笑。散会后，坐在角落边的刘伯伯向我招手，示意要我过去，我就过去了。他说：你坐，我就坐下来。他说：『以后你把要讲的信息分成几段，每段做一个题纲，熟记题纲，按顺序发表讲说，就不会忘了。』感谢主，这样的教导给了我很大的帮助，在服事主的事上他也带领我。我们和刘伯伯是同一小排，有一天他对我说：『有一位年长弟兄在我们这一排，但没有来参加聚会，你去看望他一下。』我心想我是年轻弟兄，怎么看得来年长弟兄？但我还是去了。看到那位弟兄，他很高兴说下星期就会去参加小排，后来这位弟兄也被主复兴，也愿把家打开为着小排聚会。有一次这位弟兄对我说：『安弟兄，你那次来看我，我内心好感动。』我知那是圣灵的工作, 刘伯伯是属灵人，他知道弟兄姊妹的需要，而我也体认到在服事主的事上，在灵里去看望弟兄是不可少的一件事。

不多话，但只讲一句就够我受用一生

我们住在台北石牌，有一天外面下着大雨，姊妹想出去买菜，但带着两个孩子实不方便，小孩留在家里又不放心。正在此时，刘妈妈跑来敲门，进来说：『黄馥，你去买菜，我来帮你看孩子』。姊妹真是非常感动。刘伯伯、刘妈妈都是这样在爱里服事我们。刘伯伯不多讲话，但只讲一句话就够我受用一生。记得在我们结婚聚会中，刘伯伯很温暖的从座位上站起来说：『我只说一句话，今后你们要跟随你们二位父亲的脚踪行。』说完就坐下，我们双亲均是高龄，但他们同样的是一生爱主，服事圣徒，至老而不休。刘伯伯的话，我们存记在心，这也成为我们服事的动力。

最让我感动并激励我的就是他去聚会的情景。他行动不便，需靠轮椅，石牌会所聚会是在二楼，在初期他都是由青年弟兄三、四人抬着轮椅上楼，后来他要复健自行，他左手扶着楼梯护栏，先是一脚踏在一阶上，另一脚再提上到同阶，一步一步，一阶一阶往上走。散会后是倒退着下楼，手扶护栏，一脚先踏在下一阶上，再把另一脚收回放在同阶上，一步一阶往下走。有多少阶梯已不记得，但每一步走得都是非常吃力艰难。虽然如此，但他总是如经上说『不可放弃我们自己的聚集』（来十25），每主日都去擘饼记念主。他爱主的心不因残弱的身体而减退，这实是一个激励人心的好榜样。

主基督成为他荣耀的盼望

刘伯伯最后病重住院，我的姊妹去看他，与他祷告，姊妹的祷告是求主能医治他，但刘伯伯的祷告是主基督成为他荣耀的盼望。得医治不得医治在他已不关紧要，要紧的是得着基督。感谢主，刘伯伯已成为我们的见证人，激励我们奔那摆在前面的赛程。我信主再来时，刘伯伯定会照着主所说『好，良善又忠信的奴仆…进来享受你主人的快乐』（太二五21,23）。愿主祝福他及他的后代。

主在召会中建立的榜样

主仆人一生殷勤劳苦的果效

主后一九八五年冬在台北为主内刘湛庠弟兄举行的安息聚会中，年迈的李常受弟兄站起来作见证。就记忆所及，曾说过这样的一段话：『我们亲爱的刘弟兄是一位主忠心的仆人，也是我最尊敬的同工，一生殷勤劳苦的服事召会。这些年来在台岛最艰苦贫穷的地区开疆拓土。在宜兰、花莲、台东，沿海各城镇，广传福音，建立教会，牧养圣徒。今天从全省各地和海外来了许多敬爱他的，在过往曾受他帮助的弟兄姊妹，聚在一起，记念并见证刘弟兄一生的服事，尽心尽性尽力的爱主我们的神，在召会中成了最好的榜样，荣耀归神。』然后当聚会结束后，李弟兄又随口说了一句：『今天的聚会应该还有更多的见证。』当时我刚好站在他背后，虽然话不是对着我说的，但这些年来却成了我一直挥之不去，引以为憾的心事。事隔三十年，还能在我有生之年为我最敬爱的刘伯伯作书面的见证，这真是主的怜悯，使我得以弥补之前的缺漏和遗憾！

弟兄的百年诞辰
对我而言则是半世纪的回顾

刘湛庠弟兄的百年诞辰记念，对我而言则是半世纪的回顾。说起与刘伯伯的初次见面，至今依然是记忆犹新。主后一九五三年春，是年一家五口乘四川轮自香港迁台定居。大哥金荦考上建国中学，我也进了师院附中就读。妹妹金箴则插班四四小学。当时台湾生活困苦，正值克难时期，尤其是我从小在优越环境中长大，在少不更事的我眼中，周围一切都是土里土气，不够水平。心中满了怨气，怎么搬来这种地方，从不知感谢父母为儿女的教育而作的牺牲。

他莫非就是同学中传说的『怪老头』

而就在我每日骑车上学的路上，有一天我第一次遇见刘伯伯，直到今日我还清晰的记得当日的情景。他骑的是一辆捷克制造的老爷脚踏车，两人逆向而行，擦身而过，令我触目惊心的是，他身穿白色大褂（多年后正名为福音背心），胸前写着『审判』二字，后背则是斗大的『罪』字，特别耀眼。就这一眼，心中突然想起他莫非就是同学中传说的『怪老头』，待返校后再作查证。而在校内，另一位同样背起了『传教婆』的绰号，那可真是名正言顺了，他就是高年班的陈泽全弟兄。多年不知他是何方神圣，竟然能以学生身分借得化学实验室，作为传福音的场所。每逢福音聚会『传教婆』一定会守在教室门口，时间又都是在吃便当时刻，那真令人尴尬。『吃』，他就是不走；『不吃』，就得跟着他走。而每到学期结束，他总会安排同学去台北一会所受浸谈话。据前辈私下告之，谈话并不可怕，因平日陈弟兄教导有方。每当长老面谈口试时期，保证有问必答，且是标准答案。一旦通过，即刻施浸。但千万不要以为受浸完成就天下太平，接着要来的也是最可怕的，就是校外的『怪老头』会约你去聚会。还会同你一起祷告，那才是最要命的呢！

当下他就对我说：『我们一起跪下祷告』

果不其然，有一天放学一面说是『不期而遇』，一面也可说是『刻意逮捕』。我果真被他带到三张犂台北教会第六会所长老执事室。当下他就对我说：『我们一起跪下祷告』。我心想：这怎么可以？我从小在我爷爷书房里读了不少七侠五义、英雄豪杰等章回小说，一向自喻为少年英雄，流血不流泪，更不要说叫我下跪。但令我吃惊的是，刘弟兄（受浸后改称刘伯伯为弟兄）竟然有凡人难以想象的神力，不仅让我跪下，更是令我痛哭流涕，悔改认罪。诚如经上所说，那灵来了，人要为罪、为义、为审判自己责备自己。也就在那天，我亲身经历了约翰福音三章五节所说从水和灵生的实际。

我听从了他的规劝
终于在半工半读的努力下完成了大学学业

自从得救之后，在属灵的事上，或待人处世方面，得到刘弟兄的教诲和帮助，可谓难以计数。从小我就不是一个用功读书的学生，再加上幼时患严重哮喘，更是受父母呵护，少加管束。在校考试又经常考得满江红。训导处亦常下通告：『金铭同学，下课后请来训导处一谈』之事，亦是司空见惯。再加上常在校外充当英雄好汉，聚众滋事，早被校方视为留校察看的顽劣分子。那时刘弟兄经常来校探望，一再规劝，在周末还经常带我去聚会。曾几何时，一改已往，竟成为榜上有名的模范生，连母亲也刮目相看，替我改名为『金不换』。在考大学的事上，当时我是一个拒绝联考的小子。考前竟然连准考证都找不着，气得母亲几乎昏倒。然而因刘弟兄的一句话而改变了我的初衷。他说：『将来你若要事奉主，服事教会，你也应当完成大学教育。』我不仅听从了他的规劝，终于在半工半读的努力下完成了大学学业。而在服事主的事上，更是受到他亦步亦趋的带领。他经常带我往苏澳大陈义胞的渔村去传福音。我俩穿着福音背心，一面沿着山路走，一面为我讲解旧约圣经中人物、历史和神迹奇事，使我对圣经得着了启蒙。待到了渔村，他用浙江口音传讲，我用大喉咙领诗，也就是在那段时间里，对服事主有了起头。后来参加教会福音组，去台北市新公园音乐台上领诗歌，就连远在青岛东路中信局办公大楼上班的姊妹，都能听见唱诗的声音，并且问谁是这『大声公』阿？

在召会中的服事有『牛』殷勤的一面
并有似『鹰』的超越

记得有一年暑期大专学生特会，我因不够资格，未能报名参加。刘弟兄知道后，就向当时特会总管刘遂弟兄提出要求。准我以服事来换得旁听身分。所谓服事，就是每天半夜将次日盥洗用水倒满所有水缸。为此每晚半夜三更，我起身担水，但却是甘心乐意。并且对那次特会的信息—以西结的异象，印象深刻、颇有享受。同时对李弟兄所写的新诗也唱个不停。这次特会更让我知道，在召会中的服事应该照着刘弟兄的榜样，有『牛』殷勤的一面，并有似『鹰』的超越。

听见里面微小的声音
顺从里面柔细的感觉

我对刘弟兄外表的印象：他身材矮小，皮肤黝黑，双眼炯炯有神，平时不茍言笑，表情严肃，不过偶而也会幽默一下。但每当与我交通他人生的阅历和对主属灵的经历时，每每令我这晚辈折服，受益匪浅。我母亲也经常说：『我喜欢听刘弟兄站讲台，释放信息，就像当年在上海听倪柝声弟兄讲道般，慢慢的，一句一句，直讲到人的里面。』关于这个说法，经我分析，倪弟兄的讲道之所以慢条斯理，其原因是他患有严重的肺病，中气不足之故。当时自以为判断正确，到如今始知自己在属灵的事上实属外行。刘弟兄在私下曾对我说了一段他年轻时的见证。有一次在乡下，大伙都进城赶集。他刚进城门，突然里面有微小的声音，让他就地跪下祷告。而当时满街都是人潮，甚是为难，但他实时顺从了里面的感觉，就跪地祷告。事后他里面充满了喜乐与平安，满足和荣耀。他对我说基督徒的一生，完全在乎学会听见主里面微小的听音，顺从里面柔细的感觉。当时我听了这一席话，和这简短的见证。就被吸引，愿意学习追求经历刘弟兄所经历的。就在我将要和苏兰姊妹成亲的前夕。母亲为我们买了一对结婚戒指。我顺从了里面的感觉，让商店的师傅，为我在戒指的内侧篆刻了『基督与教会』的字样，直到如今结婚将近四十余载，每提及此事，平日不大夸我的姊妹，竟然会说我有属灵的悟性，她不知这都是刘弟兄教的。刘弟兄每次为弟兄姊妹证婚时，都会说到婚姻是基督与教会的表征。倘若在真实的婚姻生活里，能见证基督与教会，才是真正的得着神的祝福。而今我也给儿女立下了一条家训：『在重大测不透的事上和一切的事上，让基督作主，主会负责；若是自己作主，则自己负责。』

我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华

记得刘弟兄中风后迁居台北石牌，就近荣总复建治疗。那段时间，我和姊妹曾多次前去探望。后来每次特会，也见他坐着轮椅前来赴会，从不缺席，我深受激励。

一九八四年，全家决定移民美国，行前母亲设宴请刘伯伯来家中一聚，并邀请在一会所执事室服事的徐郁文弟兄作陪；午后一同前去中正纪念堂参观。当日绵绵细雨，我推着坐轮椅的刘伯伯沿着回廊绕了一圈。对这位爱我如同爱自己儿子一般的刘伯伯，感激之情尽在不言中。诚不知这竟是最后的相聚，不胜唏嘘。回顾安息聚会那日，我和岳母一同伤感不已，铭刻在心。刘弟兄一生在召会中的见证，如同云彩围绕着我们，不仅领我们向前，更是激励我们，好叫我们持守对耶稣的信仰，一生忍耐到底，世世代代事奉耶和华！

似乎不为人所知却是人所共知

我是第二代基督徒，从小在路得会上主日学，十四岁时奉母命受浸得救。二十二岁于台北市召会九会所被主寻回得着复兴。于一九七五年八月进入台北荣总工作，开始在十四会所过甜美的召会生活。

记忆中的刘弟兄半身轻瘫，行动不便，拄着拐杖，刘师母总默默服事在侧。他常满面通红，神情严肃。后来得知他因高血压血浓之故就近医院居住，因为必须经常放血，就在会所附近租了间极简陋的房子。

对青年人的负担真是为父的心肠

当时青职圣徒常一起追求真理，被成全。记得有一次刘弟兄特别找了几位护士姊妹到会所交通，嘱咐我们要在主面前祷告寻求自己的婚姻对象。他鼓励我们因着有主的生命在里面，我们须比同年龄的人有智慧，有见识。那时的我只觉困惑，为何这么早和我们交通婚姻的事，等到年纪渐长，才懂得他对召会中青年人的负担，真是为父的心肠！

他在会中有一股安定的力量
难以言语形容

在召会聚会中总看他安静坐着，偶有起来供应话语，后来几年几乎不再在会中说话。但只要他在会中就有一股安定的力量，很难用言语形容。有师母曾说找他交通想要诉苦并寻求解决方法，但只要到他面前坐着，就觉得什么苦都不存在了！何等奥秘！

似乎一无所有，却拥有万有

林后六章九至十节：『似乎不为人所知，却是人所共知的；似乎在死，看哪，我们却活着；似乎受管教，却不被治死； 似乎忧愁，却常常喜乐；似乎贫穷，却叫许多人富足；似乎一无所有，却拥有万有。』正是刘弟兄的写照。

自年轻以来一直记得他的一句教诲:『有半步亮光就不要求一步，只跟随主走半步。』这句话带着我过了至今整四十年的基督徒生活，召会生活。刘弟兄的音容面貌虽已久远模糊，但他在生命中的服事价值深远！我永远怀念他，感激他！

在神家中全然忠信的仆人

他的服事影响深远，至今无法忘怀

四十多年前，刘湛庠弟兄因病，徐公义弟兄亲赴花莲接他来台北，住在十四会所附近，以便在荣总就医。当年十四会所还是木造平房，聚会人数不多，弟兄姊妹彼此相爱，同心合意，常常跪着禁食祷告。刘弟兄对我们一家有特别的情分，虽然他已离开我们三十年，但他对我们的服事，至今无法忘怀，影响深远。当时，大女儿颂音才三、四岁，每逢聚会全家坐在一起，颂音总是很乖巧的坐在祖母身边，还有模有样的帮祖母打开诗歌本，用小指头指来指去。其实颂音当时还不认识字，刘弟兄看到，总会很喜悦的说：『这是多么甜美的画面，祖孙三代一起唱诗赞美。』刘弟兄非常疼爱颂音，有时我们会带孩子到他家看他。有一次刘弟兄提醒我要让孩子从小就学习作文，这件事至关重要。所以当颂音刚上小学，我就让她练习写日记，并且常把颂音的日记簿和作业簿带去给刘弟兄看，他总是非常喜悦，不断的称赞说：『很好』。感谢主，有属灵长辈的指导和扶持，使我更有智慧，晓得如何来教导孩子。

后来次女以乐出生，刘弟兄就提醒我说，每个孩子的性向、资质均不相同，要因材施教。这句话对我影响很深。以乐确实和姊姊不一样，我必须常常调整脚步，慢慢观察她的需要。当时我自己不懂，便带以乐到音乐班、美劳班、作文班、舞蹈班…学习。本来我是反对以乐到舞蹈班，但以乐请爸爸向妈妈求情，如果妈妈答应，就证明神听了她的祷告。我这当妈的被这十岁的女儿单纯依靠神的心感动。至今舞蹈还是以乐最爱的运动之一。

刘弟兄对我在属灵上也有很深的影响，他知道家父在主的话语和传福音上有从主领受的恩赐。有一次我在聚会中站起来分享。刘弟兄非常称赞，说我很像家父。鼓励我今后要多交通，多分享。我心中特别感动，记住了刘弟兄的话。

一切重头学习，重新学习

回想刘弟兄四十多年前，刚从花莲搬到台北石牌，第一次在十四会所站起来交通时：说从今以后，他一切要重头学习，重新学习。林弟兄一听这话，感动得泪流满腮。一位多年忠心服事主的弟兄生病了，现在无论甚么，都得重头学习，重新学习。林弟兄便更谦卑的服在主面前。有一次私下交通，知道刘弟兄常为两百多位圣徒代祷，可见其爱圣徒之心有多深、多广。刘弟兄自己中风，刘师母身体也不是很好，小儿子很聪明，却常生病，刘弟兄常处在各种困境中，多年的服事与受苦，使他有许多属灵的争战和经历。承蒙刘弟兄看重，常邀林弟兄去他家单独交通。林弟兄总是倾听和陪伴，这使刘弟兄在主里有交通的对象。林弟兄从中领受许多属灵的教导。那些年间，刘弟兄虽然离开花莲，但他心中非常记挂花莲的圣徒，且有书信往来。书信都由刘弟兄口述，林弟兄代笔，再由刘弟兄用左手签名，寄出。信中充满了令人感动的关切圣徒的言词。四十年匆匆过去了，但这些往事仍然历历在目。

服事总是尽心竭力，尽善尽美

有一次刘弟兄说在属灵争战上曾有一邪灵夜间来攻击他，搅扰他，他在信心里靠主大能予以抵挡，斥退邪灵。有位弟兄作见证说，有一年台北的圣徒访问花莲及附近召会，刘弟兄先去机场接机，安顿住旅馆，忙到深夜还没回家，第二天一早弟兄姊妹醒来，刘弟兄早已忙着为他们预备早餐，大家惊奇的彼此对问，刘弟兄到底昨夜有没有回去休息呢？可见刘弟兄对圣徒的服事总是尽心竭力，尽善尽美。当年每逢主日擘饼聚会，刘弟兄最后的祷告总是把弟兄姊妹带到天上父神面前。有时他会有一段主的话语，特别说到主的死，主的爱，常触动我们的深处，感动流泪，所以我们总是很宝贝的作笔记。刘弟兄的身体虽然不是很方便，但他敬畏主、爱主，他爱弟兄姊妹的身影，永远铭刻在我们心中。颂音常说，看见刘伯伯就好像看见了主耶稣。

关于荣家福音的见证

刘弟兄第二次到花莲时，每天下午四点到五点外出传福音，当时主要传荣家福音（退休军人，老人），有袁伯琦弟兄（荣家机构的主任）和周弟兄配搭，有百分之九十的人得救，聚会从原先的八人增加到二十人，再到一百人，最多时聚会人数达二百人。刘弟兄给我印象最深的就是为人谦卑柔细，而刘师母则是默默服事。

至今仍享用弟兄所服事的

早在四〇年代，刘湛庠弟兄就像开路先锋一样来到偏远落后的花莲。一九五二年我在基隆得救，次年也来到花莲。当时花莲召会人数不多，约二十人，其中八位是荣民，经济艰困，甚至电费都付不出。刘师母任职花莲女中校护后，情况略为改善。随着袁周美瑛姊妹来花莲，董张垣元姊妹受浸，法院彭院长太太得救，电力公司的祁弟兄夫妇得救，张翰卿弟兄夫妇从公会转进来，主日聚会人数增至三十余位。

没有因此丧胆退却，反而更加刚强壮胆

刘弟兄带领我们向外扩展。主日袁师母、董师母和我会一同骑脚踏车去看望或传福音。有一次董师母遇车祸腿断，但我们没有因此丧胆退却，反而更加刚强壮胆。

购地款项主有预备

一九五三年我们在茅草屋聚会，之后承租明礼路三号的县有地。县府愿以四十万元将土地卖给我们。那时担任县府总务主任的谢天赞弟兄杀价至三十六万八千元。但弟兄姊妹每月工作收入仅一二百元。刘弟兄勉励我们要祷告，祷告，再祷告。众人竭尽所能，全力拼上；荣民弟兄连生活零用金都交出来了。最后一笔看来是拼不出了。当时周振欧弟兄服事召会财务，我们夫妇交通，把订婚戒指和大陆带来的五十几个银元全数奉献，把貂皮大衣也拿去点当，款项终于全部缴清。丁谷诒、曾齐政、李其川诸位长老问及银行未催缴款吗？周弟兄回答说：『主有预备。』

感谢主，用绳量给花莲召会的地界，坐落在佳美之处；我们的产业实在美好。数十年来，会所从木造房屋几次改建、扩大，成就今日美好的规模。刘弟兄当年在购地建会所一事上的带领和服事，让弟兄姊妹享用，至今仍在享用。

细致入微的服事

刘湛庠弟兄也服事过我，主要的是服事我的家。当时我年龄还小，印像中他对我母亲影响非常大。当时我妈妈是寡母，来我家照顾她的，影响她的，就是同工刘弟兄的妻子。我母亲的属灵情形多由姊妹学来。所以我常常鼓励年轻的同工及其姊妹。

对于刘弟兄，我有一个非常深刻的印象。记得当时我妹妹没考上花莲的高中，她还得去考台东的学校。我以为我妈妈请了某人带她去，结果那天是刘湛庠弟兄亲自来，接我初中的妹妹去台东。我问母亲：『没有别人吗？怎么是刘伯伯来呢？』我母亲说：『刘弟兄有负担阿！』刘弟兄的服事就是如此的细致，即使是小孩子，他也亲自服事，坐火车碰碰碰到台东去，住在一位弟兄家，就是张丽英的爸爸家。过了两天考完试，再坐火车碰碰碰回花莲。比起刘弟兄这样的服事，我们真是差多了！

在花东服事的一些见证拾遗

我一九八一年到花莲，至今已三十四年，这些年来对主恢复在东部的拓展有相当深入的了解，然并未见过刘湛庠弟兄。从弟兄姊妹的见证里，知道他也是在东部开展的先驱之一，曾经三度到东部来，最后一次应是一九六八年前后，直至他中风返回台北养病。从弟兄姊妹的见证里知道刘弟兄的行事为人：

一、他是一个卑微的人，殷勤劳苦的服事，挨家挨户的访问圣徒，低肩负重，有拿撒勒人耶稣的人性美德。早年同工生话比较辛苦，但刘弟兄积极服事从未抱怨。

二、刘弟兄非常绝对并积极的跟随工作领头弟兄的带领，从未讲论批评或有消极的言论，这给圣徒们和他的儿女们很好的榜样。

三、他不苟言笑，看似严肃，但心里温柔，热爱弟兄姊妹。

四、早年花东偏远，交通不便，召会数及圣徒人数皆不多，弟兄除了在花莲服事外，也会到凤林、玉里、台东等地，一地住一个星期，那时东部没甚么高等学府，所以他也服事配搭儿童及青少年的工作，像凤林国中，花莲女中等。

五、从召会通问的记载里得知，那时也有一些原住民的工作，在花莲寿丰的月眉村，原住民的聚集曾达百位。

今天在花东召会数已有十七处，圣徒聚会人数已达千人以上，这都是刘湛庠弟兄等早期同工披荆斩棘所立美好根基而产生的结果。当我们缅怀这些开拓的历史时，我们也当受提醒，不能放松。我们当站在这些美好的基础上，把自己再度倒空，积极的往前，直到基督的身体完成建造，使主能以回来。

神祝福他，成全他的后代
接续他服事主

刘湛庠兄长于一九六九年到花莲召会服事传道，一九七二年因病中风，九月赴台北就医。

他在花莲的期间，也负责照顾全花东，包括凤林和玉里。他大约一两周来凤林一次，乘火车要一个小时又十分钟。下火车后先到我家换脚踏车，骑一条石头路前往荣民医院斜对面一个小会所，路程约半小时。当时很多弟兄在荣民医院，兄长要向他们供应话语。散会后骑车回到我家，我们只先豫备好一碗面和一罐苹果西打饮料供应他。晚上七时凤林镇上的会所还有一场聚会，会后再赶火车回花莲。

那些年间经济差，没有装电话，许多地方都要兄长亲自奔走。那时候的同工凭信心生活，没有薪水，还带着家眷。凤林召会不懂得顾到他们的生活，对刘兄长很亏欠。刘兄长一生为主、为召会劳碌奔波，神祝福他，成全他的儿女后代接续他服事主。感谢主，荣耀归主名！
