主喜歡聽我們為靈魂得救禱告
一位和藹可親的長輩
劉老弟兄是一位十分和藹可親的長輩，第一次見到劉老弟兄，是在高一某個週六的下午，是我受浸的那天，也是我到花蓮會所的第一天。見到劉老弟兄時，他正在忙召會一些事務性的事，等受浸談話時才知道是劉老弟兄，通過了受浸談話後，劉老弟兄幫我們施浸，那是惟一的一次見到劉老弟兄。雖然和劉老弟兄只見了那惟一的一面，但是劉老弟兄在受浸後的聚會中給我們新受浸的兩位年輕人的一些勉勵的話，有的到現在仍使我受鼓勵、得幫助。
勉勵我們特別要為家人得救禱告
劉老弟兄勉勵我們：要每天讀聖經，要聚會…。要禱告，要為人的得救禱告，特別要為家人的得救禱告，主喜歡聽我們為靈魂的得救禱告。別的不敢打保票，但是這個禱告，主一定聽，主遲早會成就我們所禱告的。這句話使我印象深刻，對我影響深遠。
四十年持續禱告，先父終於得救
因為父母和弟妹們都沒信主，於是我開始為他們禱告。幾年後，家人陸續的得救。然而先父一直很剛硬不願接受主，一開始我因灰心失望，無力再持續禱告的時候，想到劉老弟兄說的：『主喜歡聽我們為靈魂的得救禱告，…這個禱告，主一定聽。』這句話加強我對主的信，經過四十年持續的禱告，先父終於得救了。
很感謝劉老弟兄在生命上對我們的服事，劉老弟兄的話，不只使我為靈魂的得救禱告能堅定持續，也能堅定持續為冷淡的、退後的、久不聚會的聖徒禱告。
感謝主！求主祝福劉老弟兄的後代，保守他們一生一世都活在召會生活裏，並在神的家中事奉祂直到永遠。
附註：因為主主宰的安排調度，三十多年後，劉老弟兄的外孫李紹約弟兄(John Lii)，和我的大女兒李一凡姊妹(Yifan Lee )，在UCSD讀大學時，因都過召會生活而相遇，最後結為婚配。當雙方家長為兒女的婚事，第一次見面時，方才知道在花蓮召會的這段過往。
