第三章　几次危险神都保守了我

　　主啊，你救我的命，免了死亡，救我的眼，免了流泪，救我的脚，免了跌倒（诗一一六8）。

　　一九三一年农历正月，我父母远赴南平工作，我在家无人管束。有一夜晚，我在街上一间糕饼店的楼上观看几个人赌博。我坐在靠窗的楼板上，看到半夜，困了往后一靠，身体就由窗口仰跌下去。还好我的一只脚被一个人按住，那时窗口正下方摆着一架玻璃橱子。我如果跌下去，头和脸一定插进玻璃橱子里，不知要被玻璃刮成什么样子！这是主保守了我。

　　这个月的另一个晚上，我跟着一群孩子，在马路上看舞龙灯。舞龙的人舞到桥上，桥比路窄，我在旁边跟着走。突然有人急叫我的名字，我收回右脚向下一看，才发现我的右脚如果踩下去整个人就要翻滚到桥下去，那我不死也会重伤。这是神又一次保守了我。

　　最危险的一次要算一九三四年的冬天。那天我的堂兄结婚，来了许多宾客，其中有一位同学带了一支手枪，他们都坐在大厅左边的书院里。当时，我负责招待。当我的脚刚跨进书院的门槛时，那个带枪的同学就走到我跟前，把枪栓一拉，　嚓一声，对准我的心窝，喊道“某某人，我要打你”，接着就扣了一下扳机，枪没有响。我知道他不是真打，所以也不惧怕，侧了一下身子说：“不要开玩笑。”他继续气势汹汹的把枪口朝下再扣了一下扳机，“砰”的一声巨响，一颗子弹打到离我脚只有二吋的地上，屋子里的人都大惊失色。这位同学自己也惊呆了。他原以为把枪的子弹匣拉开一点，子弹是不会上膛的。那知这次子弹竟上了膛。他第一次扣扳机的时候，枪如果响了，那么这颗子弹就一定射进了我的胸膛，夺去我的性命。我能幸免于难，完全是神保守了我，我对神只有敬拜！这事发生于我得救的前一年。

第二章　我的童年

自我出胎，耶和华就选召我，自出母腹，祂就题我的名（赛四九1下）。

我的父母生了十二个子女。我生于一九一七年，是家中的长子。母亲是牧师的女儿，知道头生的男孩应当献给神，于是我一出生就被母亲奉献给主。我的十二个兄弟姊妹中，除了一位四岁的弟弟早逝外，其余的都长大成人。幼年时，祖父特别爱我，教我学习古书。我读过“论语”、“诗经”、“左传”、“东莱博议”等书，还会背诵几十篇唐宋古文。十一岁时，我才入学，一进小学就读四年级；十四岁小学毕业，十七岁初中毕业。

我念小学时，国家曾发生过两件大事：一是一九二六至一九二八年的国民革命军北伐战争。当北伐军由闽南开上来经过渔溪时，我跟着全校师生拿着旗子，唱着歌到路上欢迎他们过境。第二件事是上海“五卅惨案”。全国掀起反英高潮，我也随着大家在小镇游行，并喊着反对帝国主义的口号。一九三〇至一九三三年我念初中时，国家也发生两件大事，我印象很深。一是一九三一年的“九一八事变”，日军侵占我东北三省；二是一九三二年发生的“一二八上海抗日战争”，全国反对日本侵略的热潮十分高涨，那时我也跟着同学们下乡作抗日宣传。这几件事使我从小就有很强烈的爱国热情。

我到福清县城读初中一年级时，才十四岁。一次学校举行作文比赛，我得了第三名。当我走上台去领奖时，掌声响得特别热烈。因在班里我是年纪最小、个子最矮的一个。我作文能够得奖，与我幼年跟祖父多读古文大有关系。后来，文科我都读得很好。

第一章　我的家世

　　至于我，和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华（书二四15下）。

　　我是福建省福清县渔溪镇人，家住在渔溪镇前亭村。村子的四围都是田地。村后有一条小溪，潺潺的流水向东而去；村前不远处有一个小山丘，从前生长着青翠的松树，现在已被砍伐殆尽。

　　我的祖父是个满清的秀才，学问渊博，家中颇有资产。他娶了几房妻妾，只生了一个男孩，十三岁时生了重病。我的祖父花了很多钱把全渔溪寺庙里的菩萨请来保佑，结果他的独生儿子还是死了。我的祖父有一个弟弟，三十岁就去世了，留下三男二女；于是，我的父亲就过继到祖父家为嗣子。当时，我们家还是个拜偶像的家庭。

　　我的父亲林少良，字向耕，出生于一八九八年。他长大后，到龙田一所教会学校读书，结识了我的母亲余淑娥。我的母亲是卫理公会一位牧师的女儿。父亲与她结婚后，不但加入了基督教，还因为外祖父的介绍，在当时的卫理公会里作了两任传道。第一任在东张镇下施堂。那时，我虽已出生，却因太小全无印象。第二任在龙田马湖堂，我已经六岁了，所以还留下一点记忆。那时父亲实际上还没有清楚得着基督的生命，只靠母亲帮助的一些圣经知识来作传道而已。后来，卫理公会的一位美国传教士看到父亲人很聪明，又有才干，就保送他去南京金陵神学院深造。不料父亲去神学院不久，连过去作传道时仅有的一点信仰也读丢了。神学院还没有毕业，他就回来了，并且完全脱离了教会，和当地的一班士绅混在一起，染上了各种罪恶。母亲也渐渐离开了主，家庭落到了黑暗可怜的地步。那时，我和几个弟妹也根本没有神的观念。直到一九三三年下半年，我的一个四岁的弟弟患肺炎死了，父亲受了打击，才感到这几年犯了罪，神借着我弟弟的死来管教他，他若不回头，恐怕家里会有更大的灾祸。他和母亲从此就开始祈祷，并带孩子们到卫理公会的礼拜堂作礼拜。父亲也到真耶稣教会和天主教的教堂里去寻求神。可惜当时的卫理公会和其他堂会的属灵光景都很差，没有真理和生命的供应，所以父亲虽然有意要回到神的面前，却无力脱离缠累的罪。

　　感谢神！一九三四年，地方教会中的陆忠信、陈恪三等弟兄经过渔溪，他们白天在街上发单张传福音，晚上在林维之弟兄的诊所聚会。第一天晚上，母亲被请去听道，圣灵在她的心里作工，感动她真实悔改归向主。母亲回来后，就向全家人认罪，父亲觉得希奇。第二天晚上父亲也被请去听福音，他也彻底悔改认罪了。他们重生以后，就有了厉害的转变，靠着圣灵的能力，不但离弃了许多罪，而且大发热心，传扬福音，引人信主。一九三五年正月，父亲去涵江参加特会，并在那里受了浸。回来后，他就和林维之弟兄配搭，替别的初信者施浸，并在渔溪开始了擘饼聚会。这是福清全县最早设立的一张主的桌子。一九三五年十一月，父亲参加了倪柝声弟兄在泉州召开的得胜聚会，并得到了真理的造就。此后十余年，在他有力地带领和推动下，东张、城关、龙田、岸兜、玉瑶等地，先后建立了地方教会。当时，他是福清众教会中最前面的一位弟兄，大家都很尊重他。

　　父亲一向敬重倪弟兄。一九四九年，他也参加了鼓岭第二期训练。他与教会的前辈弟兄王连俊、陆忠信、陈恪三、陈再生、蔡志崇等常有交通，并得过他们属灵上的帮助。一九五一年初，他移居到印尼，专职在教会事奉，帮助建立了印尼雅加达等地的教会。一九七六年，他因思家心切，经香港回到福州，受过政府的一些为难。一九七七年初，他才正式回国，与家人团聚，直至一九八一年离世归主，享年八十四岁。

　　我的母亲林余淑娥，于一八九六年出生在卫理公会一个牧师的家庭。她从小就受到基督教的教育，有较多的圣经知识，对新旧约中的圣经故事尤为熟悉。二十岁时她与我父亲结婚，先后养育了十二个儿女。一九三四年她与父亲同得复兴后，就成了一位在教会中十分虔诚爱主的信徒。她的信心很大且顶会祷告；我的全家能蒙恩，都是因她之故。她对青年弟兄姊妹极其爱护，视如亲生儿女，常劝他们从小奉献给主。因此，年轻人待她也如自己的母亲。一九四八年她曾随我父亲到三山玉瑶传福音，当她见到一位贫穷的初信姊妹在寒冷的天气里只穿着单薄的衣衫，母亲就把自己身上仅有的一件羊毛衣脱下，送给这位姊妹穿。主借着她的爱心，感动了许多人归主。文化大革命时，她受到很重的凌辱和逼迫，但她从无怨言，反而满心赞美主。一九七七年，她被主接回天家，安息主怀，享年八十二岁。

我对父亲的一些印象（下）

父亲的提醒，全时间服事不打退堂鼓

在台湾读研究所期间，我对父亲提到将来全时间服事的心愿，父亲竟然哭起来，让我非常讶异。他对我说，全时间服事是一种很辛苦的生活，一定要想清楚。我想，还好有父亲这样的提醒，所以后来在服事中虽然遇到一些为难的情形，都没有打退堂鼓的念头。

神带领我们家走『新路』
『新恩』是我们对神祝福的回应

一九八一年底，我与受惠在台北十四会所结婚，那一天父亲非常高兴，也在聚会中说了许多勉励的话。一九八二年夏天，我到美国参加训练，行前那次是与父亲最后一次的见面。一九八三年我在Dallas的一家中餐馆打工，工作辛苦且内心郁闷，但父亲借着大女儿的出生，对我说了许多鼓励的话。他说，他相信神会带领我们家走『新路』，因此他给我的大女儿取名『刘新路』。在以后的年日中，神的确借着父亲的预言祝福了我们一家，因此我们给二女儿取名『新恩』，这是我们对神祝福的回应。

父亲一九八五年过世时，我正在德州读研究所，因着完全没有回去的条件，也就没有回去奔丧。一直到二〇一三年，父亲迁葬到南加州的恩典陵园，心中的遗憾才稍微平息。

回顾父亲一生

一、不只他自己爱主服事主，也鼓励他的子女爱主事奉主。直到今天，我们全家都以事奉主为最荣耀的一件事。约书亚记二十四章十五节的宣告，是父亲一生的见证：『至于我和我家，我们必定事奉耶和华。』

二、在开展上，他愿意打破玉瓶为主倾倒一切，到最艰苦地区去开展。父母第一次去花莲开展的时候生出了我，之后母亲得了偏头痛。第二次去花莲服事时父亲中风了，从此行动不便，但他完全没有埋怨主。

三、在工作上，他把自己完全交给带领的弟兄们，不会因着家庭、孩子的牵挂而有自己的选择。搬家的大箱子永远准备好，随时预备往下一站移动。

四、在成全牧养圣徒上，父亲不辞辛劳，一家一家去照顾。我小时候对父亲的另一个印象，就是他几乎天天晚上骑脚踏车出去，不是去聚会就是去看望圣徒。中风之后，他就用祷告来服事圣徒。

父亲的生活榜样、为人细节深深的影响到我，也非常有助于我的服事。我很荣幸我有这样一位父亲。

回忆我的父亲（下）

父亲与我

因为我在家排行老大，父亲在我身上花了很多心血来教导。记得最清楚的，就是父亲教我写作文并投稿国语日报。常常修改又修改，直到半夜。并大方的买成套的世界名著让我阅读。他之前作过小学老师兼校长，也许把他教育孩子的那一套都提前教导我，所以学校教的我早就会了！ 在那补习至上的年代，我没花过任何补习费去上补习课。

父亲虽忙，但他和儿女互动的机会仍然不少，有一次他带着我们跟他去南方澳看望，我穿着美国寄来好看的旧衣服， 沿着弯弯曲曲的山路，眺望着蓝天大海，景色真是好美啊！大学寒暑假回花莲，每天早上五点起来，坐在父亲小小的摩托车后面，抱着他的腰，就去守晨更了。这美好的时光，永世也值得回忆。

他也给我很多成全的机会。上高中时，有一次他准备青少年特会材料，要显示人有灵、魂、体三部分，神的灵先进到我们的灵，再逐渐扩展到魂与体。他要我帮他剪了许多大、中、小的圈圈，还有黑色、白色和金色的讲究。忙到三更半夜，使我对神的经纶有比较清楚的概念。

我一向听从父母，不淘气，不惹麻烦，不顶撞，而且愿意帮忙家务。读大学时，有一次因一件事对母亲有误会而生闷气，久久不写信回家。父亲知道后，写了一封长信来。说到母亲原来是极有天分之人，年轻时将她作护理长的故事写成文章刊登在中央日报。她也会弹琴，英文又有根底。三十五岁时，得了偏头痛，就此全人受病痛搅扰，维持全家相当不易。要我尊重母亲并体谅父亲的不易。我非常受此信感动，也就从心底接受了母亲。这偏头痛，一直是我们的十字架之一，让我们也更多经历主。最后近十年，母亲住在Riverside我家，克信和孩子们也都服事了她，那是主的恩典。父亲的那封信，还在说话。

父亲的二三事

一件美事

父亲是在国共分裂前几年就去台湾了。他一面工作，一面到处传福音。那时，他尚未婚，每个月薪水全部给了邻居一家孤儿姊弟三人。母亲说，在父母结婚当天他们来参加婚礼，至此方知父亲的这件美事。

一本台语圣经

因为要为主说话，他必须会使用当时语言台语来沟通。记得家里有一本罗马拼音台语圣经。听说他在二二八事件发生时，外省人和台湾本地人有血腥事故，他被台湾弟兄保护，藏身在他们家中，由此可见他福音的果效了。

一条蚕丝被

小时候家中有一条父亲从老家带来的蚕丝被，里面的丝，又黄又亮又超柔软，那是我的最爱。他当初到台湾时，亲人分隔两地，未料多年无法重聚。父亲和老家的通信非常不易，必须托人转了又转。 那年我们住在宜兰，有一天，父亲蒙在蚕丝被里哭了一整天，原来祖父逝世的消息传来，没能见面，又无法奔丧。当时的大环境如此，何其无奈！ 树欲静而风不止，子欲养而亲不待！

一场中风

父亲是在我大四那年脑中风的。当时我们家住花莲，他在花莲、台东两地奔波服事。一周花莲，一周台东。交通不便，所以是比较辛苦的，饮食没太注意。身体差了也不知道。一天从台东回家的火车上，他就觉得有异，到站后一只手就麻木了。得知此消息时，我们姊弟正在台北上大学，正面临期末考。我们都住在台北三会所弟兄姊妹之家。那天晚祷聚集时，晨曦弟向学生弟兄姊妹说，有一位爱主的弟兄病了，他是为主祸福都不问的。我们请唱诗歌三四九首：『众人涌进主的国度，十架少人负。』这首诗歌真是父亲一生的写照。后来为了医病，就决定搬到台北，父亲下飞机是晨曦把他背下来的。感谢石牌会所弟兄姊妹的服事照顾，父母亲居此十年，直到父亲见主面。

为着下一代，我愿意他们都知道

我写此文目的，并非为父亲歌功颂德。有一天我们都要到主那里去，主称许我们即可，人说的并不重要。但为着下一代，我愿意他们都知道：他们的爷爷（外公）是如何爱主事奉神的；也愿他们认识爷爷所事奉的又真又活的神；并借此知晓爷爷的愿望，就是要我们爱主、事主到万代。他的子子孙孙都是神的奴隶！

—引导我一生全时间事奉（下）

亲身陪同，细致陪伴

八、高中毕业后，我考上台湾大学，那时父亲在花莲、台东两地服事，我先到台东去找他。然后他亲自陪我绕过台东、屏东，一路走上来，直到台北，把我带到台大弟兄之家。当我第一次走进弟兄之家时，我感觉脚好像走到了圣地。父亲的亲身陪同，细致陪伴，实在是服事人的好榜样！

父亲的温柔折服我的硬心

九、家住花莲时，我上大二，那时我变成『怪人』，在属灵一面自己实在有心追求，但又觉察到自己实在不是材料，口吃严重，不善言辞，又不会与人配搭服事。我当时自认只有追求圣灵的浇灌，才能解决我的问题，所以禁食祷告了三天三夜。那时恰逢青年特会，每场会后，我就找一个地方，跪下来祷告，饭也不吃，水也不喝。起初尚有饥饿的感觉，过了两天，饥饿感消失了，之后就没有感觉需要吃东西。我当时认为，圣灵的浇灌一定要有奇异的事情发生，可是那次并未发生任何不寻常的事，就一直僵持在那里。那时弟弟来劝我，也没用，我就是铁了心肠。爸爸知道了，特别跑来找我，劝我要吃点饭。当时我很执拗，坚决的说我不要吃。他听了之后，当场就流下泪来，祷告祷告就走了。父亲走后，我想想不管怎样，我还是需要学习听从交通，当时我的硬心因着父亲的温柔就被折服了！再加上弟弟也来劝我，就解围了。

十、父亲中风后，我们家搬到台北石牌，靠近荣民总医院。那时我已答应主的呼召，出来全时间事奉。有一次回到家里，问起爸爸：『走信心的道路有时候会不会有问题啊？』父亲叫着我的小名，说：『我们家从我们开始事奉起，主就像一位隐藏的仆人一样供应我们，主的供应甚至还要及时！』

李弟兄的评价—忠信的弟兄

一九九五年夏季训练结束后，李弟兄邀我到他安那翰的家里跟他交通，他特别提到家父，他说『你爸爸是一个忠信的弟兄。在同工们当中，个子矮小，沉默寡言，但在台湾风波的时候，有一次你父亲特别来找我交通说：那几个同工所讲的话，你可千万不能信他们啊。』果真几年后，所谓有恩赐的那几位同工就离开了。父亲为人干净、清洁，他一接触人，用属灵嗅觉一闻，就知道味道对不对，分辨敏锐。

回头想想父亲的服事，恩赐不算明显，功用也非显著，然而因着他朴实平凡的生活中所流露出对基督的珍赏，以及忠心劳苦的服事里所活出最有意义的人生，深深的吸引了我，使我乐意接续他的脚踪，在这分时代职事之下，一生全时间服事这位荣耀的主和祂的恢复！

舅父青年时期轶事（下）

关爱弟妹，深受爱戴

因为父母有重男轻女的旧思想，性格比较温和的次女刘凤金常会感受到父母给她的委屈。分东西的时候会少给她甚至不给她。遇到这样的场合，作为父母疼爱的长兄刘湛庠就对父母说，若小妹没有，他也情愿不要。因此父母只有妥协。这使小妹对长兄一直心怀感激，至老仍然常常提起。有一次刘湛庠看到小妹刘凤金大冷天光着脚，心生怜爱。用温水给她洗脚，末了又脱下自己的袜子给妹妹穿上。他的爱心使家人深深感动。

大弟刘瑞林与弟媳朱永彩的婚事，是刘湛庠一手帮助促成的。朱永彩有两个兄弟和四个姊妹，是迁居嘉兴的绍兴人。她家是一个人丁兴旺的农村大家庭。两家的结亲是因为有共同的基督信仰。

我的母亲刘春宝是刘湛庠的大妹妹，兄妹感情很深。在妹妹的心目中，哥哥是个伟人和近于完美的人，对他非常崇敬。她无数次的说过，她一生中最大的愿望就是再次见到哥哥。只要能够去台湾相见，她会不惜一切代价。我作为她的儿子，从小就知道哥哥的话对她有最大的影响力。我自己小学毕业时，父亲希望我放弃升学，回家种田。母亲坚决不同意。因为她哥哥曾经对她说，孩子读书好的话，就一定要尽一切力量让他读。所以即使家境十分艰困，在很少的学费书费也凑不齐的时候，她也会向老师争取暂缓缴费。

祷告很有力量

我父母的婚礼与二叔二婶的婚礼同日举行，两家且住在同一屋檐下。二叔强壮，二婶是童养媳，会种田养蚕。而母亲生于木匠之家，不会农活。在人看来，老大的家境比老二家要差许多。婚后两家产生不快，母亲倍感压抑，感觉受气。她告知哥哥刘湛庠。他经过恒切的祷告，告诉妹妹：老二家将会有难处，但仍然要善待他们。过了一段时间，二叔急病而死，不久他的儿子也死了，二婶转嫁他人。这些事的发生应验了刘湛庠的预告，完全出乎常人的预料。

有一次我祖父病重，自己感觉难以恢复，已经在考虑后事了。他是当地教会的长老，请长媳的哥哥刘湛庠去祷告。刘湛庠经过恒切的祷告，得着一节经文：『一宿虽然有哭泣，早晨便必欢呼。』（诗篇三十篇五节）于是他就高兴的对大家说：『不要紧，肯定会好的』。果然祖父很快的健康了（祖父八十八岁去世，无疾而终）。

我母亲结婚后很多年未能怀孕。直到一九四八年（婚后第九年）才怀孕。当时大陆和台湾之间已经很难来往了。怀孕四、五个月时，刘湛庠得知信息后写信给妹妹，肯定将生的孩子是个男孩，并赐一个名字叫『以撒』。那时没有B超，他说的如此肯定，完全是凭着信心，是来自祷告的圣灵启示。
